Rabbi Hannah Elkin is a spiritual leader and Jewish educator in Los Angeles. She currently serves as the Jewish Chaplain and Hillel Director of the Claremont Colleges.
Rabbi Elkin was ordained as a rabbi at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. While at HUC-JIR, Rabbi Elkin earned M.A.J.E. and M.A.H.L. degrees, received awards for academic excellence, and took on various community leadership positions. She has worked as a rabbinic or education professional at six different Jewish organizations in Los Angeles, implementing innovative programming and thoughtful leadership. Rabbi Elkin is passionate about making Judaism relevant, accessible, and personally meaningful to Jews of all ages.
Before attending rabbinical school, Rabbi Elkin earned a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. There she focused in Jewish Studies and Women, Gender, and Religion and developed a specialty in Jewish responses to gender-based violence.
